Referral Surgery
While some advanced surgical procedures are typically performed at specialty referral hospitals, Muskoka Road Veterinary Hospital is pleased to offer many of these services right here in our hospital through our partnership with Dr. Mitchell Gillick of Fuzzypaws Mobile Surgery.
Dr. Gillick provides advanced orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, allowing many patients to receive specialized surgical care in the familiar environment of their trusted family veterinary hospital. This helps reduce the stress of traveling to a referral centre while ensuring continuity of care with our veterinary team.
Orthopedic procedures offered include TPLO, TightRope® stabilization, lateral suture stabilization (with arthroscopy) for cranial cruciate ligament injuries, femoral head ostectomy (FHO), patellar luxation correction, and fracture repair.
Soft tissue procedures include mass removals (lumpectomies), entropion correction, cherry eye repair, anal sacculectomy, and many other advanced surgical procedures.
